Are Poor People the Only Ones Hit By Tragedy?

I was watching TV tonight...news coverage of the flooding in Texas. Impoverished people screaming that they lost everything...EVERYTHING...in the flood. I start thinking...."Why do you only see people without teeth sitting on their front porch clinging to their last beer screaming that they lost EVERYTHING from a natural disaster?" Do tornadoes, floods, hurricanes and earthquakes not affect rich people? Are rich people immune from such tragedy? Why do you never see anyone sitting on their porch enjoying a glass of Merlot?
