The Yippee Skippy Song

As a kid, I have fond memories of The Rev. Frank Hare. He was the pastor of the church our family attended every Sunday. Now, I have no recollection of any great sermons or any specific "religious" moment but I do have fond memories of us all singing the "Johnny Appleseed" song before eating a meal together.

Oh, the Lord's been good to me.
And so I thank the Lord
For giving me the things I need:
The sun, the rain and the appleseed;
Oh, the Lord's been good to me.

As an adult, I still sing this song....sometimes in my head but often out loud after experiencing moments of great joy in my life. I have always referred to it as the "Yippee Skippy" song. I guess in many ways, it is very true.....we are always given everything we need and in the proper order. I am a firm believer that we are never given anything more than we can handle but that we should always be thankful for each and every moment.
