A Difficult 18 Holes
I have one rule for golf....no snakes on the course. Yep, here we are in Santa Barbara, and we see a sign about rattlesnakes on the golf course. OK I think, that's just a sign. It will be okay. I'll make a lot of noise by yelling at my ball when I hit it and the snakes will stay away. NO! There was what I am convinced was a Black Rat Snake. I was fairly (this is written in hindsight) calm after the snack lady reported seeing it. Then, I came home and looked it up to see what kind of snake it was. There it was....on my monitor screen. A picture of this snake in a tree! OMG! This snake can climb trees? I have never even though about that as a possibility. I have spent a lifetime watching the ground for these slimy serpents and here they are on the internet in trees. AHHHHH! It made me feel unclean and I took yet another shower (one to rid the sweat and sand and two to remove the horrible thoughts of the snake).

Snakes can climb trees, some walls, they can get in your house, car and even your outside trash can. I haven't seen a place yet that a snake can't live or go.
You better look before you put your house slippers on.
I just got rid of a copperhead that was in the flower garden beside our driveway under a shrub. This time of the year they are looking for a place to stay for the winter and they don't like being bothered much. They are a little grouchy.
Besides.....you had golf clubs. I would think that if one got close enough to you, you would practice your swing a little.
Great Steve... thanks for this information....sometimes ignorance is bliss :)
Yes....somtimes ignorance is bliss.
But knowledge can sometimes be good, then again it can come back to bite you also.
